Mougins is constantly evolving, and we love that: every flower-lined lane in the village might be hiding a new discovery, a chef setting up shop, an artisan opening their workshop. We keep our eyes wide open to bring you the best of our village.

Every address we've chosen has passed our own "favorite find" test: we go back, we check again, and we only keep the ones that have truly won us over. It's this rigorous selection that gives our list its value.

Our Favourite Restaurants

Mougins is renowned as one of the gastronomic highlights of Provence, and L'Amandier de Mougins is one of its most iconic restaurants. Located in the heart of the historic village, it combines traditional Provençal cuisine with refined gastronomy in a setting steeped in culinary history.

The village is also home to many other excellent restaurants, each with its own unique atmosphere:

  • La Cave de Mougins, for unforgettable wine and sharing platters with breathtaking views;
  • La Place de Mougins and La Méditerranée, for elegant fine dining;
  • Au Rendez-vous de Mougins, on Place du Commandant Lamy, for a warm and lively atmosphere;
  • Le Petit Fouet and Resto des Arts, both intimate and full of character;
  • La Bohème, a favourite for meat lovers;
  • La Menthe Douce, serving delicious Moroccan cuisine, and Gibran, renowned for its authentic Lebanese dishes.

Just a few minutes away, the neighbouring villages of Valbonne, Mouans-Sartoux and Le Cannet also offer outstanding dining options, including Trattoria Quattro and L'Atelier Joseph.

Art & Culture

Art has always been at the heart of Mougins.

Today, two museums showcase the village's rich cultural heritage:

  • the FAMM (Femmes Artistes Musée Mougins), Europe's first museum dedicated exclusively to women artists;
  • the Museum of Photography, which hosts exhibitions by internationally renowned photographers.

Mougins offers a true artistic journey, where historic heritage and contemporary creativity exist side by side. Throughout the village, numerous art galleries display paintings, sculptures and original works by both local and international artists. Around every corner, art becomes part of everyday life.

Pablo Picasso also left an enduring legacy in Mougins. Captivated by the village's light and peaceful atmosphere, he settled here in 1961 with Jacqueline Roque at Notre-Dame-de-Vie, where he lived until his death in 1973. Those twelve years were among the most productive of his career. Today, his presence is still felt throughout the village, and a striking sculpture of his head welcomes visitors at the entrance to the historic centre.

Provençal Markets

Just a few minutes from Mougins, the colourful Provençal markets are an essential part of local life.

Every Friday, the village of Valbonne comes alive with one of the region's most popular markets. Local producers, artisans, antiques and regional delicacies fill the picturesque streets beneath the plane trees, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere.

In Cannes, Forville Market, open from Tuesday to Sunday, is a paradise for food lovers, offering fresh seafood, seasonal fruit and vegetables, local cheeses and Provençal specialities. Nearby, Gambetta Market, also open from Tuesday to Sunday (and daily during the summer), offers a more traditional and local experience, popular with residents.

Walking & Hiking

Mougins is also a wonderful destination for nature lovers, with beautiful walking trails just moments from the village. The Valmasque Forest, a protected natural park covering more than 500 hectares, offers shaded paths winding through pine trees, oak forests and peaceful streams—perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more active hike.

Close by, the Siagne Canal Trail follows a flat, scenic route that is ideal for both walking and cycling. It even passes just below Villa Soha, making it an easy and enjoyable outing directly from the property.

These accessible trails are a wonderful way to experience the peaceful beauty of Provence, surrounded by nature yet only minutes from the village.

Just a short distance from the Valmasque Forest, Fontmerle Lake is another hidden gem well worth visiting. It is home to the largest colony of lotus flowers in Europe, with spectacular pink blooms appearing from July to mid-September, reaching their peak in July and August. It's a tranquil spot, perfect for wildlife watching or simply enjoying a peaceful escape in nature.

Golf Courses

Villa Soha is ideally located for golf enthusiasts, with several outstanding courses just a short drive away:

  • Cannes-Mougins Country Club, founded in 1923, features a challenging 18-hole course bordering the Valmasque Forest. Visitors are welcome with a valid golf licence and a maximum handicap of 28.
  • Royal Mougins Golf Club, designed by renowned architect Robert von Hagge, offers a prestigious golfing experience in an exceptional setting. Access is primarily reserved for members and hotel guests, although a limited number of visitor green fees are available.
  • Victoria Golf Club, a more technical 9-hole course, is ideal for golfers looking for a rewarding challenge.

The Golf de Claux-Amic in Grasse and Golf d'Opio-Valbonne also offer excellent courses, both open to non-members through green fees.

A little further afield, no golfer should miss Terre Blanche Golf Resort, internationally recognised as one of Europe's finest golf destinations and a true benchmark for discerning players.

A Favourite Evening in Mougins

If we had just one evening to spend in Mougins, this is exactly how we'd enjoy it.

6:30 pm – Wander through the cobbled streets and simply let the peaceful atmosphere of the village work its magic.

7:30 pm – Enjoy an aperitif at La Cave de Mougins, sharing a glass of wine and good conversation while taking in the spectacular views.

8:30 pm – Dinner at L'Amandier, where every dish celebrates the flavours and traditions of Provence.

10:00 pm – Treat yourself to an ice cream from Le Glacier, just below the restaurant, to end the meal on a sweet note.

10:30 pm – Finish the evening at Place des Patriotes, enjoying the cool evening breeze and the beautiful panorama over the illuminated village, wrapped in the calm of the night.

It's an evening we've enjoyed time and time again—and one we never tire of reliving.
